I am getting the PBS information directly from the PBS site in XML format, and
update my drug database automatically with a script - requires no user
interaction

I haven't updated my MIMS database for a while - would need to re-subscribe,
but I am looking for alternatives. Yes, Promedicus would provide the MIMS
updates monthly (the update used to go like this: copy single file into
specified directory, log out all clients, rename file, log in again, done)
but I have not eneterd a contract with Promedicus because I disliked their
restrictive terms which would have prevented me from continuing to write my
own user interface.

I probably could subscribe directly with MIMS, but I would prefer to finally
incorporate support for AMH and subscribe to their data instead, or AusDI.
Costs of MIMS subscription were rather modest, not an issue. ONly reason why
I did not subscribe directly from them (developers license) becvause I did
not want to sign their licensing terms - I am working in a competing product
(drugref), and I don't want to be involved in any copyright claims lateron.

For the avergae user it would simply be subscribing to Promedicus and getting
the monthly hassle free updates from them - I think Liz Dodd on this ist is
doing that and is quite happy with it too. If you don't have ambitions of
customizing the software, that's certainly the easy way to go.
