Hello,
This is the view of some of the leftist intelligentsia who stand for
communist party of India. This intelligentsia work for the CPM to achieve
hegemony over Dalits . I have no hesitation to say that in kerala , Ezhava
community is the main oppressor of Dalits . Chitralekha issue in payyanur is an
example . And the communist party support the culprits.
Establishing intellectual superiority over Dalits is the main aim of this
intelligentsia .These leftists refuses to consider Dalits as part of the
population. It is a wrong approach to consider that Dalits are a separate
group with its own culture . This mindset will only result in keeping Dalits in
isolation. Dalit literature , Dalit folks are all part of this hidden agenda .
Social deprivation is the main problem faced by Dalits today . The recent
incident in Uthapuram village in Tamil nadu is an example. It is time to end up
the residential and cultural segregation suffered by Dalits .
It is really hurting to see myself typecast as upper caste and arrogant if I
talk against reservation. To repeat , certain people oppose reservation in
education sector mainly because of the fact that it denies equal opportunity
for all in matters related to education. One alternative is that the state
should establish more colleges and schools to provide opportunity for more
number of people . Currently there are only a handful of higher educational
institutions and the Rich and upper caste dominates them .
Sorry to keep your mailbox flooded.

Hello,
Is it not possible to democratize the society without the trademark called
"caste "? Why you want to continue to label a certain population as Dalits and
seclude them from the rest of the society ?
Dalits are becoming scapegoats in the name of reservation. Why you want to
separate them from the mainstream and then try to unite? There are some
feminists who accept the label called "women " and then try to become man . In
reality , the label "women" is only a myth . It is a mark imposed by men to
exploit the so called women . Similarly what is happening is ,a label is
imposed upon SCs/STs to alienate and target them . This is why " Harijan
colonies" are made and nobody turns upto the development of that area. In this
way, untouchability is reinforced. I have many Dalit friends who have expressed
similar views . We believe in a society where there are no labels like Dalits,
women , men etc, but only homosapiens.

This is how the cateist neo-liberal neocon view (read Mr Murali in different
threads) align with that of the 'secularist' state communists, on cast
question... They are very much concerned with the caste question when it is
raised for the democratization of the society.. Otherwise they are very much
comfortable with that....
>> It is a truth that the real beneficiaries of reservation policy are not
dalits . If the reservation is not aimed at vote banks , why the government is
ignoring Adivasis and other tribal groups? what is the use of providing
reservation to dalits when they lack basic amenities like food and shelter ?
Why it happens? Why the places where dalits and minority live are excluded
from infrastructural developments like roads, schools, electricity, water (read
sachar and many other reports) ? Why the probem of "good governance" (again
from Murali) is also a specific dalit and minority problem?
Still we shouldn't talk about the dalit respresentation in governance.... It
will "deeply divide" our society...

Your arguments are in league with thacher-regan
