I think people will only infer that if the wording is *exactly* the
same, and there isn't room for that in the menu.

Yes, but does this make it clear that this is an *override* (intended
for temporary use) to the prefs set in Preferences>Applications? Users
must know that it's an option which can be turned on or off at the
user's convenience. Don't forget that until they try it, users won't
know it's a check/not-check option, they might think it immediately
changes all the preferences in the Prefs pane.

It's never as easy as it first appears...
