Are you sure it wasn't Dropbox or Adobe CS5?

I mean, we'll add a third application to our list[1] if we have to, but let's

Both the manual instructions and the uninstaller uninstall Growl.

If you really want to, you can also delete your saved application settings and 
your Growl preferences:

        Your Home folder
                Library
                        Application Support
                                Growl
                        Preferences
                                com.growl.growlhelperapp.plist
                                com.growl.menuextra.plist
                                com.growl.prefpanel.plist
                                (that *should* be all of the Growl plists, but 
if there are any other com.growl.* plists, feel free to delete those, too)

We do have plans lying around somewhere for a new, better uninstaller which 
could take these out, too, but without Growl installed, they don't do anything, 
so it's safe to leave them.
