Actually I did install CS5 today too so that very well could have been
it.  I got my first growl notification from Evernote so just I assumed
that was the culprit.  Then there's also the Evernote release notes:
http://blog.evernote.com/2009/03/10/big-evernote-for-mac-update/ that
say it "ships with Growl," but I guess it's unclear whether that means
it installs it for you or just supports notifications.
