I still change mine at 3000 miles. I use the Series 2000 20w-50, but if you
are concerned about the rare cases of starter clutch slippage, then go with
the 20w50 HiPo motorcycle oil.
The GTS is my baby, nothing but the best for baby....
The motorcycle oil is about $5.50 a quart, the Series 2000 is $7.95 (list).
For my cars, I go anywhere from 5000k miles to 7500 miles, depending on the
car/truck and duty cycle. I have a buddy at work that runs 10k miles on his
97 Honda Civic using Amsoil and their filters. My 97 Suburban with 454
that tows the boat is usually 5k miles, and for my boat (Series 20w-50
again) its 50 to 75 hours. Since boats run engines so hard, most people
equate 1 hour = 100 miles to compare with cars.

Subject: Amsoil change interval
Are you guys that are using Amsoil changing the oil at longer
intervals than before since Amsoil says that is one of their benefits?
In any case, what intervals are you using? I'm accustomed to
changing my oil every 3000 miles.
Which Amsoil grade is recommended for the GTS? The 10w30 or
20w50 ?
Thanks
Hugh
