I hate to ask a question as embarassing as this, but did you check the kill switch 
before doing all of the high-brow mechanical things?  Gulp... confession... I got 
towed once to a garage that solved my can't start problem by flicking the kill switch 
to "run".  Go ahead and laugh at me... I'm the only one who's ever done a dumb thing, 
right?
