Wow, that's weird isn't it. I had the same thing happen to me 2 seasons
ago. I came back from a long ride late one night and when I went back to
the bike in the morning it just wouldn't start. Of course the ride I just
came back from was with a guy who was riding a Suzuki DR650 and we spent
about 4 hours on the side of the highway getting his going again after
supper before we got home. I never expected my new high tech state of the
art Yamaha to have any problems (that kinda stuff only happens because guys
don't take good care of their equipment...right?). Well, I was put in my
place when mine wouldn't start. It just kept cranking and cranking but
wouldn't fire. We finally got tired of looking for problems and took a
break for a few minutes, when we tried again it fired and I've never had
another problem like that. It was almost like when you get vapor lock, but
mine had sat all night so I knew that wasn't it. I believe that problems
like these are typically electrical/electronic in nature. I just hope it
never happens again.....real embarrassing.
