I can not hazard a guess about the compression. I will remind you of a couple
of design features of the GTS. First, it has an anti theft device that kills
the INJECTION, not the spark if it is activated. It can be activated by a
worn key switch. The ECU has to recieve two power up signals from the key
switch in the correct order in a specific time frame. (milli seconds) This
prevents "hot wiring of the MC because the probability of a human recreating
this scenario manually is low. With those two thoughts in mind, if you
experience a no start situation, look for the engine light to be flashing. If
you see it flashing while you are trying to start the bike, the injection has
been disabled. You need to turn the key off and turn it back on again. Hugh
had this problem, and if I remember correctly, it started out intermittantly
and continually got worse with time. The anti theft system can be falsely
activated by turning the key too quickly or too slowly, so try to just turn
it at a normal flick.
You did not mention leak down specs....... what were they? That would
indicate where the trouble was. Also, unless you are at high altitude, 160
comp sounds low across the board to me.
