Since joining this list I've been busy trying to form opinions on the GTS.
Based on what I've heard I'm very enthusiastic. I hope to get my leg over
one this coming week, then I think all will become apparent.
A couple of issues have sprung to mind though. How often is the front
suspension assembly likely to need work and how easy is this to do ? I
checked out the diagrams at:-

fairly straight forward, though some items a little 'pricey'.
Obviously too, from a maintenance point of view, problems with the EFI would
not be welcome. Though I'm a reasonable mechanic, this doesn't extend to
integrated circuit fault finding ! I've not seen much mention of this being
an issue, but wondered what experiences people have had.
Finally, I checked out my local Yamaha dealer. It's one of those rare family
businesses of three generations. The owner, when I asked of the GTS
basically said, "don't compare it with conventional forked bikes, learn to
ride the GTS". Is this a fair comment.
