Nick, I don't think it would be that easy to bend or break the bars with
this setup. Of course, enough force and you can always eventually get to
that point, but with normal usage I just don't see it as likely.
Most common problem I've ever seen with tie-downs, and not applicable to
the GTS, is blowing out fork seals from cinching the tie-downs too tight.
That's not especially hard to do.

P.S. Not sure if we can put enough pressure into the front shock to blow
the seals out of it though. That would not be pretty. May be possible.
