The GTS I bought a month ago had a Givi wingrack and top bracket installed. Yesterday
I noticed that both painted fairing
side panels (the ones right under the seat) were loose. In each panel, two of the
three plastic pins that "plug" into rubber
chassis grommets were not in the grommets. It seems that the bent sheet metal Givi
brackets that come down vertically from
under the passenger seat area prevent the faring panels from seating all the way. The
black inner plastic (where the relays
are attached) is cut way for these vertical brackets, but it seems that the painted
outer panels have to be trimmed also. I
don't have any instructions for the Givi rack, so I can't verify that it was installed
correctly. My question is this: In order to
have the side fairing panels seat correctly when installing a Givi rack, is it
necessary to trim those fairing panels? Thanks.
