Now there's a good point--has anyone actually cut into
the available filters for this bike and seen what is
available? (I've seen the web site of the guy that
does it for a bunch of other filters, but I'm more
specifcally interested in those available for the
GTS.)

I have heard conflicting theories on OEM
filters--first, they are the best b/c specifically
designed for the bike, company reputation on the hook,
etc. The other view is that they go to the lowest
bidder. The only one I know for sure is that the
Subaru filter for the 2.2 is made by Purolator.

Now, I believe that OEM is better than fram, but is it
better than Filtro? What about Purolator? What else
is available? What about those of you using the
Purolator one made for an Infinti Q45 or something?

If anyone is interested, I'll buy every filter
available and cut into them. I'm planning on going to
my brother's soon and this is right up his alley
(scientists way smarter then English majors)--sounds
like a 3 beer project, and I get to hold the camera.

What I'll need from the list is (1) specific brand and
part number of filter you are using, (2) where you got
it, (3) price. If anyone wants to just donate a
filter, let me know and I'll tell you where to send
it.

I'll send the results to whoever maintains the web
site, if you want to include them. I'll dance around
the legal issues by either (a) not offering an
opinion, or (2) making it plain that it is only an
opinion.
