I've cut into my old filters and have found that the
OEM looks as good as my boat's Pure One or equivalent.
 If you examine the outside as well, there are NO
comparisons in quality--much more grip length and
tighter diameter tolerance.  These might have been the
lowest bidder or maybe they reduced cost with a
long-term partnership with Yamaha and others who rely
on quality...
