Hi Rob. Welcome to the list. Basically what I did was rebuild my GTS. Along
the way I upgraded the systems that I felt needed attention (keep in mind,
that for me this is an ongoing process that really has no end). The reason
is that my GTS was in need of serious attention. The 5 speed tranny is a
fine piece but I've wanted to have a Yamie with a 6 speed in my stable. The
GTS made this a reality. I also wanted to have a motorcycle that was
suspended with Ohlin's dampers front & rear. The GTS made this a reality as
well. The dual exhasut I considered a must for a tourer of this caliber. So,
I made it so. I use SS lines on all of my motorcycles for their hydraulics.
My GTS is no exception. The seat is the OEM unit & I don't know as of yet if
it will be requiring any alterations, which I will do myself only if
needed. The how? Now this is complicated as I don't do how-to's. They are
very difficult to do properly & then there are "hounds" out there that are
looking to profit on other people's sweat & when something doesn't go their
way it's your fault not theirs. Then there are the do-it yourselfer's that
only compromise to save a buck or two & again it's your fault not theirs.
Both of those reasons can cost someone's" LIFE". "LIFE IS A PRECIOUS
COMMODITY". I've studied & trained in the field & I wish to avoid problems
like these. I ride & own motorcycles for pleasure & not for competition or
to prove anything at all. A successful project always has its glitches, but
if it's genuine & it comes from your individual mind & creative process it
will always end up a success. Because it's yours & it comes from you. The
pleasure you will achieve is beyond any how-to article & compromise\risk
that you might be willing to take just because you read about it . For me
motorcycles are real life FANTASY. But real life means "SAFETY FIRST". Open
up the floodgates & you'll be surprised at what pours out. Now on the
subject of pictures. I appologize to everyone , I hope you can undersatnd
that in getting my GTS ready taking pictures was the furthest thing from my
mind. I'll be back with pictures. Stay tuned. Be good. Ride safe. Peter
Piazza
