Damn.. I always liked to share my experiences and had a sort of "your
problem" approach to if someone does it halfway and screws it up. Feel free
to ask me for tips but the normal disclaimers are the rule.
Ohlins is good, dual exhaust? Why? Better flow or just for looks? I can
understand the 6speed tranny as the FJ I own needs an extra gear, or rather,
so it feels. I suspect I'll feel the same with the GTS. So was that just a
bolt in replacement from the YZF or whatnot that has the 6speed?
Stainless lines are good, they give you a better 'feel' of the brakes and
clutch. The seat, definately get it worked on. I rode Bob Johnsons with the
Corbin, then got on the stock one, hey-seuss, BIG difference. The Corbin
might be a little wide and even uncomfortable for some as it's flat instead
of rounded on top. With fwy pegs it would be more comfy. I know (from Bob)
that Sargent will rework your seat.
Other options would be to have gelpads stitched in or different foam.
Pictures ("pitchers" as my girlfriend would say) would be awesome, always
good to have something to refer to. Ofcourse, I snapped a million of them
when I rebuilt my Chrysler 440 engine, put the pictures on a HD that shortly
thereafter crashed. BUmmer.
How do you like the 6speed tranny though? Does it drop the RPM on the fwy
with enough grunt to carry you at 100mph plus?
