ECU follow-up

In an effort to make up my mind "to spend", or "not to spend", the money for
a 1994 ECU for my 1993 I need to know if the surging problem is unique to
the 1993 model year.  Are there any fellow GTSers out there who have
experienced surging on a 1994 model year bike?
