I know, I know, I should check the archives, but I was hoping that someone
could just give me the final score (if there was one) on this topic, as I'm
now having this problem.
Recently I went on a 2800km ride and found my GTS using excessive amounts of
oil - about 1/2 litre every 700kms. It has always consumed a bit of oil,
especially if I ride fast. My riding style has not really changed, however
my oil did. I recently took the advice of the list and changed from Castrol
Syntec 5w50 to Mobil 1 15w50. Could this be the reason? Your advice
(constructive) always appreciated.
