Just got my GTS back from a major factory dealer
service, valves/throttle body sync. Among the many
service checks was chain slack. They adjusted the
chain
slack on the centerstand at roughly 1" slack. The
manual calls for .4-.8". I ocassionally ride two-up
which I'll be doing Sunday morning. I usually keep
1.5" for two-up, measured on the centerstand.The
Yamaha manual calls for measurement on the
centerstand.
Motorcycle mag. articles call for measurement with
rider on board. Which procedure is correct?
According to the manual the dealer set it correctly,
but I'm concerned with two-up riding, that 1" slack
on centerstand is not enough. What do you think?
