The correct throttle body size for the GTS is 34mm. The injector diameters
are smaller than the carb venturi diameters of the FZR 1000. The smaller
diameter increases the intake velocity at lower rpm's allowing the engine to
make more usable power at lower throttle openings compared to the larger
carbureted FZR engine. Between the smaller injector size, cam profile and
timing, and exhaust header size, the GTS has more midrange and more torgue
than the more HP FZR 1000 engine. The idea was a sport touring bike needed
midrange punch more than it needed all out peak HP like the FZR.
