Thanks guys, you were right. A large crescent wrench does the job to unscrew the ends. Unfortunately, the inner bar mounted heaters I bought do not fit inside the GTS's bars because of the threads which the bar ends screw into. I even unscrewed the other end of the bar (where it joins the cast aluminum triple clamp), but that end is even smaller. I guess I'll have to take the heaters back and try something else. Shucks!
I heard from a buddy who rode a 24 hour ice race last month, that these inner bar heaters work very well. And they were cheap, and easy to install. They only cost me $30 CDN. I could search the archives, but if you guys have a suggested replacement for these, I'm all ears. GWN Daren
