I haven�t measured oil consumption. I was told buy Yamaha official dealer that oil consumption is a normal characteristic of this engine, which was corrected from 98�s Yamaha engines. They�ve stated that there�s no engine damage until oil consump. goes to half a liter per 1000 Km. (625 miles).
I was worried about oil consumption red light�s frequent lighting. I was told I had to fill oil and check level with engine running. There should be a minimum oil level through the window while engine running. It implies to overfill a bit according to manual. But that�s what I did and forgot about oil consumption's light. Regards.
