As far as using silicone sealer on a rubber gasket...... Not a good idea. The silicone is actually slick and can cause the gasket to slip out under compression of the gasket. It is a good idead and the correct procedure to use Yamabond #4 on the cam end plugs to make sure they seal, but silicone sealer has no place being on the valve cover gasket. It is accepted practice to recycle the valve cover gasket one time, so at 52K and change you will need a new one. RSRBOB
