I bought a valve cover gasket from Zanotti a few weeks ago. They charged me $14.15 (US).

I was told (from 2 shops) that these type of gasgets are pretty costly, and rarely replaced. Gasget glue would do. That's what I did, and no probs. In general, these kind of repairs are really time consuming, and not really much to "earn" per hour...but...well...I still saved that 8 hours work in a shop. And then again....this is a hobby - isn't it ? It's real summer around the corner ! You need a fairly narrow set of feeler gauges though because with 5 valves on top of that little cylinder there isn't much room. Replaced the valve cover gasket while I was in there due to a very small oil sweat near one of the corners on the seal. I've also had several bad experiences with bike mechanics, so I now do as much as I possibly can myself. Heck, I even mounted and balanced my own tires this year. Only the electronic stuff worries me now. GWN Daren
