Went back last night and told them I thought I had been overcharged since they only had to check the valve clearances and not lift cams, replace shims etc. They told me that 4 hours was their standard alloted time and if they had to change shims they usually lost money since it often took 6 hours. Oh yeh, that gives them a lot of incentive to do the job right huh!
I noticed their labor rates for watercraft were $85/hr! Damn, that's about the same as our charge out rates for a good mechanical engineer! On the way home I stoped in at the other non-Yamaha bike dealer in Boulder. Their rates were $75/hr for bikes too. Needless to say if I ever have to get a Dealer working on my bike again I'll be taking it to Denver...
