Not considered a vanity plate in NC (and doesn't cost as much a year
either) but some may consider it that way.

ps it was the first amateur radio plate issued for a motorcycle in NC
according to the DMV person responsible for these plates (which require
proof of FCC license). I asked if it could be done for the bike and was
told "we've never done it before but I don't see why not...just can't be
the same as on your other vehicle and can't be more than 7 characters",
hence the /M.
