We can have a series of different plates in Australia, depending on the State, and we call them 'personalised number plates'! In NSW you can choose your own on line, provided, of course, it has not been taken. A personal plate, within the allowed formats is a once only charge of $169 AUD, whereas a 6 letter/number custom plate carries an annual lease fee of $378 AUD. I was lucky as my GTS came with YGD 93 as standard, which I refer to as Yamaha Good Design, manufactured in 1993.
