I finally got around to take the dick/rotor out and put it on a flat surface. What do you know! It is slightly warped.
Thank you very much for your help! >>> "Crisler, Jon" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 11/25 8:46 AM >>> It sounds like your rotor is warped, which means it is slightly bent from side to side. It is very hard to tell from a visual inspection if this is the case. You either need a gauge to check it, or remove it and put it on a very flat surface. That second method is not very good, as some kinds of warps will not be visible that way. You could remove it and take it to a machine shop to see if it can be resurfaced, buy a new one, or try to get a used one. If it is not too bad, you can live with it for a while. It might somewhat affect your stopping distances, and might accelerate the pad wear, but most rotor warps do not require emergency repairs. Besides, your front rotor does 90% of the work in stopping your bike. -----Original Message----- From: Sail Kim [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, November 25, 2002 11:23 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Rear ABS is on all the time. Even with light application of rear brake I feel pulsation. Someone asked me to check if my rotor is bent. But, as fat as I can tell it looks straight.
