Yep... "just because Harley does it" is hardly an acceptable excuse as far as I'm 
concerned....

  This is exactly why I didnt purchase from Yamaha.  I was at the Longbeach
  show Sat also and let one of the reps know what I thought of their pussy way
  of selling their product.  Yamaha has whined and cried that there was not
  sport touring market for the past 4 years while the other manufacturers have
  done their homework and developed very good lightweight sport tourers.  Some
  of you know that I have sold my GTS and I looked for a FJR and of course none
  were available, so I tested and purchased a Aprilia Futura .  I also tested
  and considered the Ducati ST4 and Triumph sprint ST.  I considered the Honda
  VFR also but no bags and the seating is crowded.
        If Yamaha doesnt get off their ass they will continue to lose potential
  customers.
