You'll need longer trumpets for the lower RPM's. The intake pipe and horn is just a musical instrument, that call to few, rather than the masses. Longer for lower frequency resonance, so you can pack in more air at lower air velocity, and if you can pressurize the air box at higher speed the pipe length won't as large a factor, then you will be dealing with intake size. There are volumes written on the subject. Take a look on the web at what the Formula SAE folks do, with a 600cc and a small restrictor, that all the air must go thru.
