looks interesting. I've always liked the Old West, myself. Are you using
3eR or 4e? 4e is still a little short on references for various guns, IMO.
How are you handling that if using 4e?

Hi Vk,
At present - I'm likely to try and build this up using both 3e and 4e rules
where they complement each other - or build things up from scratch where
things are missing.
One thing I will likely need to do is research the effects of shot guns in
combat. Questions like "Where do the pellets go that missed the target"
don't seem to have been answered in GURPS 4e or 3e for that matter. I of
course need to reread the rules more closely (called boning up on the
material) and get a feel for what other players may try and do in the game.
I'm also going to be looking to see what kind of morale check rules I can
bring into play for use with the players and NPC's. Getting hit by a
bullet is a scary experience I'm sure - especially when it is in the gut
somewhere or you suddenly lose the use of your limb. Ain't nothing like
being shot in a barn and worrying about getting lockjaw and all that stuff
;) (Not that I'd really do it for the players in a melee/skirmish game -
but it would be fun to mention it at least!)
At present, I'm looking through my game books from the following game systems:
Knuckleduster Cowpoke Town generator
OUTLAW by ICE
WILD WEST by FGU
PHOENIX COMMAND (with the old west data supplement)
Book of Mars (likely as inspiration for the morale rules)
Last but not least:
TSR's BOOT HILL
I will probably pick up some figures from FOUNDRY for use with the table
top (and to go with the White Wash city buildings) and take it from there.
I'll keep in touch with you on it, as I may end up creating a map with
Campaign Cartographer and then perhaps run you through a few scenarios via
the internet if you're interested. Let me know off the list and we'll take
it from there ;)
Hal
