Hi Folks,
I got to thinking about what it would take to try and bring into play,
population demographics involving only 2% of a given population, that would
still explain why some are born with Magery, some are born with Magery 1,
Magery 2, and Magery 3. I got to thinking, if you treat the problem as
being a recessive expression of certain traits, how many gene pairings
would you need in order to effect a 2% population having magery?
One. It implies that about 14% of the general population has the gene.
Now, the reason you are stuck at only 2% is harder to guess. There has
to be some evolutionary disadvantage associated with the magery gene, or
you'd eventually wind up at 100%.
