I think what is being missed here is the fact that fighters rarely operate on their own, and that sensor data can be handed off between platforms and other friendly units within a battle. Consequently, you could easily have the mother ship providing sensor data (especially if the Mother ship has better sensors than the fighters, which in GURPS TRAVELLER STARSHIPS, is a function that is limited by size modifier of the ship).

Yes, I missed that. * The two fighters are listed as single-crew craft, but the Cockpit module actually has two stations.
