I think what is being missed here is the fact that fighters rarely operate on
their own, and that sensor data can be handed off between platforms and other
friendly units within a battle. Consequently, you could easily have the mother
ship providing sensor data (especially if the Mother ship has better sensors
than the fighters, which in GURPS TRAVELLER STARSHIPS, is a function that is
limited by size modifier of the ship).

Yes, I missed that.

* The two fighters are listed as single-crew craft, but the Cockpit
module actually has two stations. The 50-dton Heavy Fighter from
  Starships definitely has two crew.

* On the other hand, it is iffy if fixed-mount weapons can be fired
effectively from a crew station other than the pilot. So maybe the
-2 is the reason why the normal Navy pilot template has skill
  level 14.

* On the third hand, a GT fixed mount isn't the same as a VE fixed
mount. IIRC turrets have universal mounts and fixed are actually
casemates, to keep the stats interchangeable.

* Could a single pilot give the helm controls to the computer and
concentrate on firing? That's more advantageous than the other
  way around, I think.

Onno
