Hello Johannes, 

numbers could help here, again. How many cars in the world, and 
how many tanks? Even if tanks started to wreck each other, odds
are that more cars end up as collateral damage than AFVs become
intentional damage ...

Jump lines could be completely separate from real astrography. 
Wormholes as shortcuts between worlds hundreds of parsec apart.
