If you want to stay strictly within the limits of what a particular tech base can accomplish, Vehicles/Robots is a good way to achieve that. If you then want to use it in play on an interpersonal scale, a character-point writeup is better. Fortunately converting from the former to the latter is not too hard. I didn't use any secret tools to write WILL TO LIVE - all the key numbers are in the 4e BASIC SET.
