But defining a dracopad as the landing space for those dragons and for simplifying the description refer to it as a "helipad" does not seem a bending of the rules to me. But this heli reference let me thinking into another direction: what is the mass of those dragons (in relation to the ship), and what airflow is caused by their wings, especially during take off and landing? Why I am asking: operating a helicopter nearby any kind of ship on sails is a real challenge for both the pilot and the ship's crew, especially when the sails are still set. Other airplanes may be even more difficult, but usually any jet will not come close enough … So for our dragon carrier it may be necessary to recover the sails before any flight operation. This in turn would allow to clean a landing strip beside the masts. Another question: can those dragons swim? Maybe they "land" on the water alongside the ship and will be pulled on board. Perhaps they can even start from the water surface … -- Thomas Thrien_______________________________________________ GurpsNet-L mailing list <[email protected]> http://mail.sjgames.com/mailman/listinfo/gurpsnet-l
