Propably a skycarrier could be resupplied by ship. International waters are most likely closer then own bases and the ship could carry all heavy equipment necessary for it. (Making it something like a skycarriercarrier)
The downsides are, that the carrier has to leave the place of operations occasionally, that the supplyship might become a weak link in the carrier operation.
The carrier will need enough initial supplies, to last until the supply ship catches up. I did not do any calculations on that.
So propably it's not worth it.
