Ddi any one go into the fun of being neurologically linked to a droid or like and the effects that could happen if a droid was destroy or how it was attacked/destroyed?

Also the movie Avatar, how much could be done to simulate something like the neuro-link or what else?

Amazed the neuro-link lasted as long as it did with all the electro-magnetic fields around or ....

So the players play characters who let avatars take all the risk? Consider

It would be a very non standard campain, but i think in principle it can work. In most campains pcs risk their lives only in a technical sense, but can trust that they don't permanently die because of a missed roll, or one bad plan.

A drone operator campain, where if they mess up, they have to explain the loss of the drone to their commanding officer can be much harsher from a player perspective, then a campain, where if they mess up, the GM wings something so the pcs stay alive.

Sure drone operator is not very glorious. But you can build a pc around the unthanked hero stereotype as well.
