The drive letters can change even on the same computer if you have a lot of gadgets to plug and play. When the system needs a drive letter, it just takes the first free slot it finds. The booksense takes 2. And of course, drive letters are recycled when things are unplugged.
You know, it's interesting how the booksense can work off 3 memories. I connected my 16GB thumb drive which contained a bunch of soundtracks that I wanted to listen to. The booksense recognized it (as a "memory stick") and I had no trouble browsing my movies. I find it amusing that a thumb drive can hold up to 32 or more gigs nowadays, and my big, slow backup drive not many years ago was just 13 gigs. I also made another purchase recently -- bluetooth capable hearing aids (in case anyone else wears hearing aids). It doesn't work directly with the booksense's bluetooth for some reason or other, but if I connect the booksense headphone line to the bluetooth controller for the hearing aid, it will broadcast the sound to my ears. No need for headphones. And it is all in seemingly good quality stereo, and this was definitely not top of the line -- I got the cheapest ones that supported the bluetooth. Time will tell whether I like this arrangement better than plain old headphones on top of my hearing aids. The controller has a lot of buttons on it to switch between tv, cell phone, line in, and whatever else, but so far I'm only using it with booksense. I think the whole setup was rather poorly designed, but it may prove useful sometime. Happy listening. --le ----- Original Message ----- From: "Raul A. Just so you know, the drive letters on one computer are usually different than the drive letters on another. As others have said, look for removable drive since most SD cards do not have a label. You can of course give it a label. I believe that section 3 of the BookSense manual may talk about this, or you could search for the word label to find out. If you are not seeing two new drive letters when connecting your BookSense XT to the computer with an SD card in it, then perhaps you need to arrow to the right in case you are using tile view on your computer. Hopefully you can get the upgrade done. Many thanks. On 3/27/2010 10:41 PM, Karly Prinds wrote: > Hi All, > > I have a couple questions. I am starting the process of upgrading the > firmware.
