Hi there. I use GMail for my business, because it allows me to grab business
mail from anywhere. But today I noticed that the reply button which
Window-Eyes used to see is no longer visible to WE. There is a link to the
older version of the program and WE sees the reply link, but nothing happens
when I click on it. Has anyone else noticed this?
Thanks in advance for any input.

Yes but mainstream is always best isn't it. I mean I'd never go for 1 of
these note taker devices from any company. They're nothing but a waste
of money when you look at what's available on todays mainstream markets.

Hi Cindy,
To my mind, the Netbook is much snappier and in fact, if you put the
Smalltalk in its case, with its external USB keyboard, it is heavier
than a netbook. The small thumb keyboard is so ridiculously small that
it is barely usable for real typing. For browsing yes.
So considering the external keyboard takes one of only two USB ports on
the Smalltalk, my netbook has three, then the old STU is looking less
attractive by the minute. It also doesn't have the battery life, and in
fact, the two Smalltalks I have here, have really unreliable batteries.
So the MSI Wind wins hands-down for me.
All the best
Steve

Raul,
Thanks so much for the info.
If you feel okay answering this, I would love to know the comparison
between the small talk ultra and the net books? Obviously, it depends on
what one wants to do but my main concerns are weight and the smaller the
screen the better (either for no use or depending on the situation only
10 degrees of vision so smaller really is better), and typing ability.
I have a braille connect 12 that I would use with the small talk ultra
probably for typing but my braille speed does not even come close to my
touch typing on a qwerty.
Just interested in people's thoughts on this.
Cindy

Hello Andy. I will only answer this with the disclaimer that GW Micro
does not endorse one netbook over another. As far as Window-Eyes is
concerned, you can install it and it will run fine on any of
them which
use Windows operating system.
I ended up with the Asus PC1000-HA netbook. This is the ten
inch screen
model with 1 sd card slot, 3 usb ports, 160 gb hard drive,
Windows xP, 1
gb of ram, and a 6-cell battery. The keyboard works as a
keyboard should
when you consider the fn-key, and the keys are all shaped
very nicely.
The only key so far which I don't like is the right-shift
key. this key
is a regular sized key rather than a longer rectangle key.
Next to the
right shift key on the left is the up arrow key. So if you
don't stretch
your right pinkie far enough the way you should, you end up
pressing up
arrow instead of right shift. That's one small annoyance which I can
train my brain to compensate for when I consider all the other neat
things I like about this machine. At this point, two of in
tech support
now have netbooks of different brands.
Hope this helps.
