Louis, just a short note to tell you that this is the usual first resort as it were. Opening and closing WE should definitely take care of such problems, but unfortunately, in this case, it just doesn't. Maybe next time, I will try shutting off scripts and see what happens. It is really hard to think of every thing, especially when your mind is on what ever project you are working on at the time. Naturally, the last thing you want to be distracted by is your screen reader fritzing out on you at a critical moment, or even when you are enjoying a great news article from your favorite blog

Folks,

An easier way to restore speech is to his control+\ to go to window-eyes,
alt+f4 to unload window-eyes then control+alt+w to restore window-eyes. In
word files, sometimes you must close and reopen them after reloading
window-eyes.

Subject: Re: Los of speech with Window-Eyes

Besides this, I've also experienced many times Window-Eyes 7.2 and
versions preceding this one suddenly speaking just the first few
syllables of lines or words, and even after closing WE, and reopening
WE, the problem continues. The only way to stop this behavior in my
experience is by rebooting. It seems that this problem starts to
happen more when using Firefox than any other program, but also may
have happened while using IE as well. However, I only use IE when
absolutely necessary, so can't say this happens with any consistency or
not.

Ah yes, it also continues to happen when in the Windows task manager,
and after ending and restarting WE there as well.

Hope this input doesn't inadvertently digress too far from the
problem under discussion. When this happens, I swear at WE, but most
of the time I swear by it.

Thanks for your indulgence,

Larry
