I have this happen a lot. Sometimes WE will just say parts of words,
and when I'm alt-tabbing between programs, or document windows, it's
kind of frustrating.
Did you all know that Window-Eyes and our computers are a huge blessing!
Think about it.
I was talking to a friend Monday night on the phone, and we were
talking about the days when college students had to hire readers to
read all their stuff to them. Now, college isn't as hard. <grin> I
know, we're taking a power seller's course in selling, and life is
much easier with a screen reader.

Besides this, I've also experienced many times Window-Eyes 7.2 and
versions preceding this one suddenly speaking just the first few
syllables of lines or words, and even after closing WE, and
reopening WE, the problem continues. The only way to stop this
behavior in my experience is by rebooting. It seems that this
problem starts to happen more when using Firefox than any other
program, but also may have happened while using IE as well. However,
I only use IE when absolutely necessary, so can't say this happens
with any consistency or not.
Ah yes, it also continues to happen when in the Windows task
manager, and after ending and restarting WE there as well.
Hope this input doesn't inadvertently digress too far from the
problem under discussion. When this happens, I swear at WE, but most
of the time I swear by it.
Thanks for your indulgence,
Larry

Pat, I have noticed this as well, but my issue with this only
started with version 7.2, and I have to hit Alt backslash and the
Alt f4 to close down WinEyes, and then of course, as you stated,,
enter or space to shut it down. Then I bring it back up again and
it works fine for a while. Has anybody else noticed this?

Subject: Los of speech with Window-Eyes
Hi Everyone,
I am still having issues of Window-Eyes just stop talking now and
then, and I was thinking that my computer was locking up, but I
have confirmed, that this is not the case. It is in fact,
Window-Eyes. This happends at least once a day and sometimes more
ofthen than that.
One way to tell for sure, is to do a control backslash, and then
alt-f4, and enter, and then load another screen reader, and if the
computer starts talking, we know it is Window-Eyes that is the problem.
This is getting old, and it has been going on since Window-Eyes 7.0.
I do hope that the loving folks at GW Micro could please fix this problem.
I don't get any script update alerts at all.
Thanks.
Pat Ferguson
