Hello!

I type the following:
It's nice.

Basically I found out that if I type an apostrophe and then another two characters, that I also get two apostrophes, one in the place where I put it, and another one letter after that. I'm using the set-up where the apostrophe doesn't show up until you type the next character, which is great for putting accents on letters (like é or à). However, when I type the apostrophe, then wait half a second, and then enter the next series of characters, it works fine. I had this problem when I tried the Window-Eyes demo on Windows XP, but I'm also experiencing it on Windows 7 (on both a laptop and a netbook from different brands, so I doubt it's a specific problem with the computer I'm using).

Cheers!
Davy

Hi Davy,What are you typing in when this happens? I have tried typing
that sentence in notepad and did not have that problem with an extra '
at all. I can type that's nice and it comes out like you see above. I
do think I remember seeing what you describe happening somewhere at
some point though and I can't remember where. It must not bee due to
window-eyes in itself though because it doesn't happen in notepad.

I am in the middle of switching to Window-Eyes as my main screenreader,
which is also why I subscribed to some of the GW Micro mailing lists. There
is one quite strange thing, however, that is holding me back, and a quick
search through this list's archives didn't result in a solution. That's why
I thought I'd bring it up.

The problem is that when I am typing some text at a decent speed, a sentence like "That's nice." comes out as "That's'nice." So something is putting in an extra apostrophe. I thought that Window-Eyes couldn't be responsible for
that, but when I shut it down I don't get this extra apostrophe.

This strange behavior obviously makes using Window-Eyes a bit of a pain, so
I was hoping there would be something I am forgetting about that would
correct this issue. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated!

Cheers!

Davy
