Have you tried to go to the Window-Eyes controlpanel by Ctrl-BackSlash, then
the File menu, Script Manager, and here choose to turn off all scripts.
Sounds like there could be a trouble with some kind of script, that might
conflict with other stuff on your computer.
Are you running any other software on your system, that in any way interfere
with the typing? I.e some kind of keyboard driver for things like wireless
keyboard.
Honestly, I'd never been into the trouble you discribe, neither heard of it.
So, these are mere blind shots. But definately sounds like you have
something running, that makes up a bit of conflict. It might not be a
problem in most cases, but when you load WE, and maybe one of the scripts;
Well, that's when the problem kicks in. And, I have seen some other strange
things happening from WE scripts loaded. Actually had to stop using a couple
of nice scripts, simply because they caused sluggishness on the system.
First thing to do, is to turn off all scripts. If this solves your problem,
then turn back on, one by one, and see when the thing reaapears. Just keep
in mind, that the first script to be turned on, should ALWAYS be the
GWToolkit; and Homer script if innstalled.
Guess you are already aware of it, yet I am taking the opportunity to remind
you of a clean system. Things like trojans will sometimes interfere with
your system in manners like this. Don't trust your AntiVirus software. They
only take some trojans and keyboard loggers. Get a good AntiSpyware program,
like SuperAntiSpyware or similar, and make sure there is no such bad stuff
on your system. Even a clean out of your Cookies folder might prove helpful.
Have seen quite funny things, due to old - and bad - cookies hanging around.
No wonder, that AntiSpyware software runs a thorough test on your cookies,
as well.
Are you - by the way - running any other screen reader, simultaneously
loaded into the RAM? If so, try to turn off the other screen reader.
Usually, it might be possible to have several screen readers loaded at the
same time. But have actually seen cases where they seem to have certain
challenges in coexisting in RAM. Temporarily disabling the competiting
screen reader, might be a good way of tracking down, to what extend this
affects your problem.

So far, I've seen this problem in any program I tested (Notepad, WordPad,
Outlook Express, Thunderbird, and a few others). It's not so much that
Window-Eyes is displaying the wrong thing, it actually appears on screen

I do not doubt that you are having the problem, but what program are
you typing this in? Are you typing it in word, some other word
processor, notepad, what program? On windows 7 in my setup, which I do
not know how it differs from yours, I do not get that problem typing
in notepad.
