Pressing control+shift on the left side of the keyboard changes the layout. Try
pressing the two fore mentioned keys together and see if that changes the
behaviour. You know it works when you here WE say "layout changed".

Hello!

I type the following:
It's nice.

Basically I found out that if I type an apostrophe and then another two
characters, that I also get two apostrophes, one in the place where I put
it, and another one letter after that. I'm using the set-up where the
apostrophe doesn't show up until you type the next character, which is great
for putting accents on letters (like é or à).
However, when I type the apostrophe, then wait half a second, and then enter
the next series of characters, it works fine. I had this problem when I
tried the Window-Eyes demo on Windows XP, but I'm also experiencing it on
Windows 7 (on both a laptop and a netbook from different brands, so I doubt
it's a specific problem with the computer I'm using).

Cheers!
Davy
