I have the Booksense standard. I had no problems with the upgrade. Did you
see the following from Hims? This was posted on the booksense support list:

Thank you for your comments, and indeed, I am not working today, so I
apologize to all of you for the late response.
You will all be happy to know though that, even though I am not working
today, the developers in korea did not have the day off, and given the time
zone differences, began evaluating these problems last evening. they are
abel to reproduce, and are working to fix the problem. You will receive an
update as soon as they can possibly get it to you. In addition, we are
working on the download problem in order that this update won't be nearly as
difficult to obtain.
As Pam discovered, down grading is not as straight forward as it seems it
should be. Please be patient and wait for the update rather than attempting
the down grade.
I know this is inconvenient for many of you. We appreciate very much your
patience with these matters. And we hope it will be only a short time before
we can solve these issues.

Strange indeed! I could not seem to download the zip file. I tried three
times and, although Windows said the file was 16.5 megs, when I
downloaded
it, I got a 50kb file that, when I tried to extract it, Windows said was
invalid. So, the fourth time, I hit Open instead of Save, and after a
minute
or so, the file opened. I then was able to extract the bin file and
upgrade
my standard model as per the rest of the instructions, which were the same
as with the previous upgrades. After all that, the upgrade went without a
hitch. I do like these separate volumes for my music and audio books. I
did
not lose either my NLS or RFB&D authorizations.

Also, the XT isn't usually this complex to upgrade either. This one was

simpler with the victor stream: just download the update, copy the file

the sd card and restart the stream...
