Hi Raul and all
I'm having this particular problem as well, and noticed that it just started happening recently that if I need to restart window-eyes for any particular reason, the desktop icons will not read at all. It only happens after a restart of WE, and only then. Could it have something to do with the fact that I have window-eyes running as a service? meaning that, window-eyes runs when the computer starts. I'm also using win 7 64-bit. If you need a list of the apps I have installed I could send that as well.

Thanks.

Hello Pele and Jim. Are either of you using the Kill Window-Eyes script or app by chance? Pele, you mentioned windows-backslash. I believe this is the hot key for this script.

Many thanks.

Hi Everyone

I am using the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home premium, Window-Eyes 7.5 and Dectalk.

Has anyone come up with a solution to the problem of the desktop icons not speaking? This seems to happen every day and the only way to get them to talk again is to reboot.

I believe someone said that Windows Key and Backslash sometimes worked, but it has not worked for me.
