All,
Please do the following to fix any sound issues relating to Skype. This
is on Windows Vista and above.
1. Open the Sound multipage dialogue box.
2. Ctrl-tab to the communications page.
3. In the group of radio buttons, select, "do nothing".
4. Click ok.
What this does is prevent programs that communicate via audio, such as
Skype, from adjusting audio output from other programs, including screen
readers using software speech, Window-Eyes included.

It appears to not be a SAPI issue at all, because when I received a
couple of calls using it with Window-Eyes, I couldn't get audio output
either. I turned off the speech settings with no joy. I then ran the
free screen reader and all is well again.

starters it works very well. I do however feel that the more bugs we
report, the better. Also to the GW Micro community, I have spread the
word about your program.

support. Whenever I try to make and receive a call, SAPI blocks all
audio output to the call and, in one scenario, actually caused the
program to crash. I have for now turned off all speech related
events in
the speech tab of options. This of course means I will have no idea who
has signed in and out, but at least I get the sounds and will be aware
of any other events, like incoming calls or chats.
