I'm going to jump in here, and most likely shouldn't, but your post
almost screams at me to do so.
First of all, how about using a spell checker if you're going to use
words you can't spell. Also I noticed in a couple of places where you
obviously forgot to tap the space bar, and others where you just
simply left out letters. If you're going to rant, at least do it where
those that read it can read it clearly.
With that said, I don't think connecting the dots to your conversation
is the problem others have with your post so much as it is your rather
brash attitude.
I've only been a list member for a couple of weeks, but I've not seen
any over the top praise of GW Micro, nor have I witnessed any begging
on the list either.
I don't visit any blind forums so can't speak to the attitudes of
those users, and only have a couple of friends that are blind.
However, this list is a support list for GW Micro; what would you
expect to see here other than GW Micro talk? Even if there was an
abundance of praise for the GWM staff, what's wrong with that? I can
tell you that I've been a GW Micro user since 1993 and I'm very
thankful for their efforts. I'm fully aware that they are a "For
Profit" company and that doesn't bother me in the least. In fact, I'm
happy for them. With that said, I'm sure that Doug started the company
not just because he could make a buck, but he saw a need and designed
a solution for that need. That's just called "The great American
Enterprise at work." I also believe that Doug and the staff care about
their clients a lot more than the majority of companies out there. Is
Window EYES the end all of screen readers? Can't tell you. Probably
not, but it does what I need it to do when I need it to do it. I'm too
busy of a person to install and uninstall a bunch of different screen
access software when I'm just going to come back to Window EYES.
That's not to say it doesn't have its issues, but I'm lucky enough to
have a very beautiful wife that is more than willing to read anything
on the screen that WE doesn't recognize. I' tried JAWS years ago and
didn't like it, nor did I appreciate the attitude I got from Hinter
Joyce's support staff. On the other hand any time, and it has been
very rare, that I call GW Micro for tech support, not only did I get
prompt and courteous replies, but was told thank you for being a GW
Micro customer. Try getting that from Microsoft, Intuit, or Freedom
Scientific for that matter.
From this post I gather your family has and is doing well for it
self, and
that's great. I'm proud for your family and wish nothing but all the
best and success for them. I hope and pray that you're able to live up
to the family expectations, and carry on being successful with it.
I've been self employed for 30 plus years at a business I started by
my self, and still operate to this day. However, there is a great
portion of the blind community that hasn't and isn't as fortunate as
you or I am. Depending on what resource you look at those numbers can
be any where from fifty to eighty-five percent of the blind
population. Why? Some of it is personal ambition, but the largest
majority of it is general ignorance and prejudice against the blind
community as a whole. There's also the camp of people out there that
think just because a few blind people are asses that we all are.
From the tone of your post I'm assuming that you're still a
youngster, so
take it from an Old Timer ... turn the attitude down a notch, be
thankful for what you have, and show some thoughtfulness and
compassion for those less fortunate.

What I meant was that since Window-Eyes is a private company that
they deserve relitively moderate praise left handed not ob obvert
praise every second that one wakes up. People on here like most blind

are doing this to help us out. Nothing further can be from the truth
in that they are doing it for the bottomline cause of my families
owning three business that you can tell that my impartiality from such
a discussion. However, I think Window-eyes needs more criticism like
Microsoft, Apple and others recieve for services that are notyet
ringored because in part advvocacy like Katherine is dealing with and
collaberation disunity between companies and failed retrofits of set
files or in general unaccessible productive programs not Skype and
otrs that play relitively no role as far as I'm concerned in finding a
job. The prioties of GW-Micro should only be on labor related
endeavors to get blind people productive nothing more or less can do.

As for ninite it is a grait tool for getting you up and running it
works
good with window-eyes and the programs listed on the screen readers
page
work good with it as well.

Finally there is actually a post worth reading on here! All I hear
on here is grubbing about how great GW-Micro the company who profits
from us customers like we are fortunant to be with them not the other
way round. This isn't a charity, yet people beg on here just sad. Here
though is perhaps something of use for us productive beings or
attempting beings to be able to use.

Yes this works great! when people set up their computers I build a
ninite installer for them and it just works.
Another trick I learned is that Ninite always checks for the latest
version of a program. so once you download an instalation file for a
program, keep it! Then when you hear about a new version of a program
you know you have a ninite installer for, just run the installer again
and it updates you to the latest version of that program. How cool is
that!
