At Tom: The reason for the complaints is that many of us had higher expectations of GW Micro than what we have here. Simply being silent doesn't effectively convey anything to the company; it only relieves you of the burden of having to hear the complaints. Window Eyes has gone up in price and down in stability and user-friendliness. GW has done a lot of good things, but they are slipping, and I for one, am disappointed that they focused any effort at all into something as ridiculous as social media, especially when accessibility is pretty good through the mobile side of the Facebook website, rather than use that effort to improve the Window Eyes software. And at Solomon, you're kidding, right? A company has no obligation to meet the needs of its customer base? What enormous rock do you have your head under? That is precisely the business any company is in if the goal is to try to make money. Of course that is their end goal? I'm also very disappointed with GW that they'd go to the trouble to get everyone all revved up about this when there's really nothing to get all that excited about. And as to taking or leaving it, do you not remember the uproar over the worst of the operating systems put out by Microsoft such as Windows Millennium or Windows 8? Do you honestly think Microsoft would have made the effort to improve on Windows ME to get to XP if all their customers just kept their mouths shut? Sorry, but many of you seam to think that because GW makes software that we depend on that they are above all criticism or reproach. Well, when I'm paying nearly $1,000 for the software and $175 plus for each upgrade, you bet I'm within my rights to complain when they don't deliver. The rest of you can blindly worship at the alter if you like, but I'll have no part of it. And trust me, when they have, and hopefully some day will, really improve their Window Eyes software and it really is better than what's out now, I will be one of the first to tell them how much I appreciate it. Jon

Hi, Bob.

Yes, we hope to have it available, along with the actual software bits, on Monday. We didn't want to release it, and then leave for the holiday (check your local listings).

Thanks,

Aaron

Are any plans in the works for Socialeyes subscription to be available through the on-line catalog?

Indeed. Thanks for an objective breath of fresh air, Solomon.
I hate to be the one to break the news, but blindness is a very costly
disability.
It's simply a case of supply and demand.
And it never ceases to amaze me how much time folks spend complaining on
this list.
If any other software developer put out a new product you weren't
interested in,
thought unnecessary, or thought they should work on their products that
you are most
interested in would you pummel their support list with useless whining
and bashing?
The work has been done. The product is out. What's the point? Like
everything else
in this world, take it or leave it. It makes life much easier.

I am fascinated to no end how some of you are readily willing to make
negative statement without any relevant objective to meet. You are not
obligated to buy anything at all. A merchant is not obligated to satisfy
anyone's need. You buy it if you like it, and you don't if you don't.
What
good purpose does your ridicule and negative remarks accomplish? I am
amazed how much we compete in being the voice of the most offensive
remarks.
If you wish to let the provider know that you are not impressed, all you
need is not say anything. They are not dumb! They will get the message
when the clientele is quiet.
That is just my thought. Please don't waste your breath trying to tell me
off!
Sincerely,
Solomon.
